Second Life Destinations

“Magic and Mystery await around every corner,” Joonie Jatho says of her Homestead region, itself called Magical Mystery. “Come explore and see if you can find all the enchanted, secret places!”

It’s an enticing invitation, and one well worth taking the time to accept. Designed on Joonie’s behalf by the combined talents of Kaelyn Alecto (responsible for  It All Starts With a Smile (which I last visited here), LuaneMeo (who designed Luane’s World – see here – with Kaelyn, and most recently opened Luane’s Magic World – see here), and Gorba McMahon, Magical Mystery presents visitors with a lot to see and discover.

Erstellt wurde "Magical Mystery" von drei Landschaftsdesignern. Und wenn ich die Land-Info richtig verstanden habe, im Auftrag von Joonie Jatho. Die drei Designer sind Kaelyn Alecto, LuaneMeo und Gorba McMahon. Vor allem Kaelyn hat ja im Herbst mit ihrer eigenen Region "It All Starts With A Smile" eine gelungene Landschaft geschaffen, die viel Aufmerksamkeit erregte. Vielleicht schaue ich mir dort auch noch den Winter während meiner Tour an.

Notecards oder Infoschilder habe ich auf "Magical Mystery" nicht entdeckt. Die einzige weitere Info von Joonie Jatho ist, dass man die Region erkunden soll, um alle verzauberten, geheimen Plätze zu finden. Und wer möchte, erhält durch einen Beitritt in die Landgruppe die Rez-Rechte auf der Region. Das mit den Rez-Rechten ist jedoch recht begrenzt, denn Joonie hat das neue Primlimit, bis auf wenige freie Prims, bereits voll ausgenutzt.

Heute gibt es Winterbilder von einer der beliebtesten Regionen in Second Life. Das ist "It all starts with a smile" (IASWAS) von Kaelyn Alecto. Erst vor knapp zehn Wochen, hatte ich zu dieser Region hier im Blog einen Simtipp geschrieben, damals noch in herbstlicher Optik.

Heute gibt es gleich zu Beginn meinen Kommentar zum Windlight. In diesem Jahr scheinen viele Ersteller von Winterregionen eine Umwelteinstellung zu bevorzugen, die den Schnee wie Kalbsleberwurst aussehen lässt. Manche sagen auch Sepia zu diesem Farbton.

Natürlich sind die Geschmäcker bei diesem Thema verschieden und es gibt sicher auch eine Menge Leute, denen das gefällt. Mir gefällt es nicht so, denn was ich am Schnee so liebe, ist das reine Weiß, am besten noch in Verbindung mit anderen Objekten, auf denen der Schnee wie eine Haube aufliegt. Ich habe heute dennoch die meisten Fotos mit dem vorgegebenen Windlight geschossen. Ich dachte mir, dass es vielleicht auf den Fotos besser aussieht als in 3D. Ist aber leider nicht so.

Um zu zeigen, dass der Schnee auf IASWAS tatsächlich weiß ist, habe ich drei Fotos mit einer anderen Windlight-Einstellung am Ende dieses Beitrags eingefügt.

As I was photographing different spots and areas, I could not help but think to myself that I could spend at least a couple of more hours there enjoying the sim, the atmosphere and taking photos, very easily. There is just simply so much there, so many quaint and relaxing spots to sit and enjoy, so many areas that I found to be amazingly photogenic, that you would end up with a huge pile of photos to appreciate from Kaelyn Alecto's sim. 

Kaelyn Alecto's It All Starts With a Smile is a classic Second Life Destination. Its current design is more natural and outward facing that ones in the past. Instead of a town center, structures face outwards to a grey misted harbor surrounded by misty skies and grey mountains. The overall effect is enchanting. Certain design elements, colorful planked fences return from prior years. Sparse modern architecture, such as the redwood-faced welcome pavilion shown above, are new to the design here. This is a gorgeous and relaxing destination, and highly recommended for a visit.
