Hand - Bryn Oh -  Immersiva  -  Second Life

Hand - Bryn Oh -  Immersiva  -  Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

Opening today, Saturday, December 10, at the sim Immersiva, is Hand, a new and brilliant work by Bryn Oh. In keeping with Bryn's recent works, Hand tasks us with discovering the narrative of a story — in this case, that of a young girl named Flutter — by exploring our environment, looking for clues and information, but in departure from recent works the story unfolds in narrative rather than poetry

"Hand" von Bryn Oh -  Immersiva  -  ab 10. Dezember in Second Life

"Hand" von Bryn Oh -  Immersiva  -  ab 10. Dezember in Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

A Watercolour Wander at LEA 12 - Eddi & Ryce Photograph Second Life

A Watercolour Wander at LEA 12 - Eddi & Ryce Photograph Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it
Ceakay Ballyhoo's A Watercolor Wander, located on LEA (Linden Endowment for the Arts) 12, is one of the most creative and enjoyable art installations I have visited in awhile. The visitor is guided through a series of tableaus and literally walks into watercolor paintings that the artist has created. The freshness of the medium of watercolor, which should take into account the brightness and texture of the underlying paper on which it is based, can be seen to great effect in Ceakay's work.

A Petrovsky Flux gone from Second Life

A Petrovsky Flux gone from Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

A Petrovsky Flux, the stunning, ever-changing cluster of devices that would assemble themselves and grow almost organically, only to blow apart and rebuild themselves over and over again, taking on a new form each time – has gone from Second Life.

Designed by Cutea Benelli and blotto Epsilon, the installation had, since 2010, been curated by the University of Kansas at their Spencer Art Museum region in SL, where it had over the years been a popular draw. However, at a time when eyes were all on the opening of the Horizons regions (see here) and return of Mont Saint Michel to Second Life in November 2016 (see here), the Spencer Museum of Art region quietly slipped away from Second Life, pretty much unnoticed.

Art STIM - Uli - Second Life

Art STIM - Uli - Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

The 1120 sq m parcel, Art STIM, is located on the side of a sheer hill overlooking the Uli Peninsula on the subcontinent of Sansara Volcanic Sims. The open cave in a huge boulder, with a view of waterfalls and Mount G'al, is a quiet place to do some work or talk.

A gallery is situated on top of the boulder.

Library by Cica Ghost, Sky Atoll - Second life - Echt Virtuell

Library by Cica Ghost, Sky Atoll - Second life - Echt Virtuell | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it
Also eben viele Bücher. Das Ganze im gewohnten Cica Maßstab, bei dem die Besucher annähernd die Perspektive einer Maus einnehmen.

"Them" by Cica Ghost, Sky Atoll - Second life - Ziki Questi

"Them" by Cica Ghost, Sky Atoll - Second life - Ziki Questi | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it
"I am making some people," Cica Ghost told me a couple weeks back. "I don't know what they will be, but I want to make a scene with lots of people — to cover a sim with people." And, in her new immersive installation, Them, she has done just that: in a single posed scene, amid a parched and forlorn landscape with giant thorns emerging from the ground, hundreds of humanoid figures are massed together, their statuesque shapes bent downward and trudging forward in the same direction, looking alienated, broken and perhaps searching.
