There can be few greater breaches of public trust than a police officer who abuses their power to commit sexual assaults on women. Such was the case for far too long with regard to San Diego Police Officer, Anthony Arevalos, who had a pattern of pulling women over, accusing them of DUI, and then demanding sex in exchange for not arresting them. Hopefully, this multi-million dollar settlement will encourage the City of San Diego and other California law enforcement agencies to better screen, train and supervise their officers so that similar incidents don't happen in the future.
