For fiscal year 2013, which runs from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013, OSHA’s top 10 violations were:

Fall Protection
Hazard Communication
Scaffolding
Respiratory Protection
Electrical – Wiring Methods
Powered Industrial Trucks
Ladders
Lockout/Tagout
Electrical – General Requirements
Machine Guarding

Both 2013 and 2014 have all of the same workplace safety violations. The top 4 remain the same while some of the other violation’s rankings changed.

Hopefully, employers will examine these rankings and increase worker safety especially in these top 10 areas. Worker safety should be the paramount concern for employers.

OSHA's Top 10 Workplace Safety Violations for 2014

OSHA recently announced its preliminary top 10 workplace safety violations for 2014. Unfortunately, these violations remain the same as 2013. This helps show that employers are not doing enough in these areas to protect workers.

Nebraska workers injured on the job, including for these types of violations, are entitled to workers’ compensation benefits.
