Les microplastiques, pouvant accumuler d'autres contaminants environnementaux à leur surface tels que des métaux lourds ou des molécules organiques, pourraient poser un problème encore plus grave pour la faune, la flore et l'homme que supposé jusqu’alors.

ECHA proposes to restrict intentionally added microplastics

ECHA proposes to restrict intentionally added microplastics | Prévention du risque chimique | Scoop.it

ECHA has submitted a restriction proposal for microplastic particles that are intentionally added to mixtures used by consumers or professionals. If adopted, the restriction could reduce the amount of microplastics released to the environment in the EU by about 400 thousand tonnes over 20 years.

Stakeholder workshop on microplastic particles | ECHA

Stakeholder workshop on microplastic particles | ECHA | Prévention du risque chimique | Scoop.it

This workshop is organised to discuss the outcome of the call for evidence held to support our investigation into a possible restriction on the intentional use of microplastic particles in consumer and professional products.

The workshop will supplement the information obtained from the call for evidence with the intention of facilitating constructive dialogue between stakeholders on the key issues relevant to a potential restriction on the intentional uses of microplastic particles under REACH.

Microfiber Release During Washing | ChemistryViews | Prévention du risque chimique | Scoop.it

Microplastics found in wastewater mainly result from two factors: Firstly, many cosmetic products, such as toothpaste, creams, shower gels, and peelings, contain tiny pieces of plastic to achieve a mechanical cleaning effect. Secondly, microplastics are washed out of polymer textile clothing.
