Building Creative Commons: The Five Pillars Of Open Source Finance - CounterCurrents.org

Building Creative Commons: The Five Pillars Of Open Source Finance - CounterCurrents.org | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

By ‘Open Source Finance’, I don’t just mean open source software programmes. Rather, I’m referring to something much deeper and broader. It’s a way of framing an overall change we might want to see in the financial system. To illustrate this, I set up an analogy between computer systems and economic systems, and I then explore what financial ‘code’ might be. I then sketch out the five pillars that could underpin an open finance movement.

Designing Futures for Peer-to-Peer Learning @ CSCW

Open, online learning environments, such as MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and open learning communities have been promoted as a way to expand equitable access to quality education. Such learning experiences are potentially enriched via extensive networks of peer learners. Even though challenges exist to realize these aspirations, open, online learning environments can serve as a mechanism for how we provide transformative learning experiences. This workshop aims to bring researchers, designers, and practitioners from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to explore how the body of CSCW knowledge can better support the vision of sustaining peer-to-peer learning in online environments.

New Creative Commons Licenses Released For Intergovernmental Organizations - Techdirt

New Creative Commons Licenses Released For Intergovernmental Organizations - Techdirt | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

Even though Creative Commons licenses have only been in existence for just over a decade, it's now hard to imagine the online world without them. The ability they offer to modify or even cancel copyright's monopoly has led to all kinds of innovation, and given that success (as well asone or two failures), you might think there's no need for any more CC licenses. Creative Commons begs to differ:
