How the millennial generation and a new “sharing economy” are transforming the way cities function - Baltimore magazine

How the millennial generation and a new “sharing economy” are transforming the way cities function - Baltimore magazine | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it

Sure, parking demand reaches naturally epic proportions on game days around M&T Bank Stadium; Miller, who grew up in Harford County, knew that. But finding convenient downtown parking in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., was always like searching for a needle in a haystack. Could digital technology, he wondered, fill those empty driveways, lots, and parking pads with actual cars in real time?

The Sharing Economy

The Sharing Economy | Peer2Politics | Scoop.it
Millennials have been conditioned by the Great Recession to shed the responsibility of ownership. They want the music, but not the CD. They want the ride, but not the car.
Jameson Parker's curator insight, March 15, 2015 5:12 PM

I thought this was a great article to help people understand the "Sharing Economy".  That's the word given to a new trend observed amongst millennials.  Instead of owning everything people seem to be happy with simply having access.  This article points out many benefits of this new economy.  It's nice to hear an argument on both sides of this subject.
