Ever since the TV became popular in the late 50s, we have spent a lot of time in front of screens. Still, when I talk to people about the trend “Children connect everything” in our Ericsson ConsumerLab report 10 Hot Consumer Trends for 2015 and Beyond, I am often met by the attitude that “I don’t want my kids to sit in front of screens anymore.”

I made the trek to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) every January for five years starting in 2009. In 2015, I didn’t go. Ostensibly, I had the year off but even though I wasn’t in the middle of the madness of the 2-million-square-foot Greatest Trade Show Of All Time (if you believe the press releases from show organizers), I naturally watched from afar.
