Why do i learn Italian? | NOTIZIE DAL MONDO DELLA TRADUZIONE | Scoop.it

Living in a small town of Vietnam, where everybody learns solely English to achieve their American dream, I am usually considered to be “lunatic” when i tell people that i learn Italian. I started to learn English in 2009, when i was 10, and since then English’s come to me as a way of having a good job than a language that i have a passion for. Then, at the age of 15, i realized that i can sing. Hence i’ve been practicing singing every day since then. Until one day, i met an Italian singer, who told me about her passionate love for singing as well as her mother tongue. She asked me “So why do you think most opera songs are composed in Italian?” Well i had no idea then. So i decided to learn Italian to… find out why. So interestingly, Italian never makes me feel bad. Now it’s been 2 years since i started to pick up this beautiful language and i have no regrets. And i also know that all of my friends here desire to learn Italian very much.
