At shipbuilding plant "Zvezdochka" repair work on the Carp B-239 submarine stopped. Perhaps, because of financing reduction.

As told to the correspondent of FlotProm two sources at the enterprise and a source in the company contractor, all repair work on the head submarine of the Barracuda project 945 is curtailed now.
According to one of sources, the termination of financing of repair of the submarine can be a probable cause of a stop of works.

The contract for repair and modernization of submarines of the Carp project 945 B-239 and B-276 "Kostroma" was signed with the Severodvinsk ship-repair center "Zvezdochka" on May 14, 2014. The center of ship repair "Asterisk" had to carry out troubleshooting of boats, unload nuclear fuel, replace all electric equipment, carry out repair of mechanical parts. During modernization of "Barracuda" had to receive new hydroacoustic stations, fighting management information systems, a radar, GLONASS/GPS navigation systems and systems of arms. It was planned that will return to structure of Navy of Russia "Carp" in 2017.

The Carp B-239 submarine began the service in 1984 under the name K-239. I was a part of forces of constant readiness of Northern fleet. In 1990 it is declared by the best ship on fleet. In 1992 it is reclassified in ABPL and it is renamed into B-239. It is brought out of structure of fleet on May 30, 1998 and it is put on a trick in Severodvinsk. The second submarine of the Kostroma project 945 is put on April 21, 1984 at Red Sormovo plant in Gorky, floated on July 26, 1986, was a part of Northern fleet on December 30, 1987 under the name K-276. I had to pass modernization after a nuclear submarine "Carp". Submarines of projects 945 and 945A (B-336 "Pskov" and B-534 "Nizhny Novgorod") intended for fight against aircraft carriers and other submarines. Depth of immersion of boats makes 600 and 550 meters respectively. The ships of the project 945A are armed with six torpedo tubes of caliber 533 millimeters with a unit of fire of 36 torpedoes, and 945 - ─ two ─ caliber of 650 millimeters and four 533-millimetric (a unit of fire - 40 torpedoes).

The Russian Defense Ministry has signed a contract to refit two Soviet-era Sierra-class multipurpose nuclear submarines, the Zvezdochka shipyard said Wednesday, according to RIA Novosti. 
"A contract was signed with the Defense Ministry to extensively refit two Project 945 [NATO reporting name Sierra]. One of the submarines has remained at the shipyard for over 10 years, the other will arrive this year," spokesman Yevgeny Gladyshev said.

The refit will extend the submarines' service for about 10 years.

The shipyard's workers are currently removing nuclear fuel from the reactor of the first submarine, the Karp, laid down in 1987. The submarine's refit is expected to be completed in 2017.

The Russian navy announced in early April that it expected to receive over ten modernized nuclear submarines by 2020.

La flotte dispose actuellement de quatre sous-marins en titane : deux sous-marins du projet 945 Barracuda – K-239 Carpe et K-276 Kostroma, et deux sous-marins en titane du projet modernisé 945A Condor – K-336 Pskov et K-534 Nijni Novgorod.

Les principales cibles des Barracudas et des Condors sont les porte-avions et les sous-marins.
Ils sont équipés de torpilles, de deux lance-torpilles de 650 mm et de quatre lance-torpilles de 533 mm. Contrairement au Barracuda, le Condor peut lancer des missiles nucléaires de croisière Granat et plonger jusqu'à 600 mètres - soit 50 mètres de plus. En termes de défense antiaérienne, les sous-marins sont équipés de missiles mer-air Igla.

Tous les sous-marins font partie de la 7ème division des sous-marins de la flotte du Nord mais depuis 1994, le Carpe est en attente de restauration au chantier naval Zvezdotchka.

Un contrat pour la réparation des deux premiers sous-marins a été signé avec ce chantier. Selon ce document, Zvezdotchka doit procéder à une réparation intermédiaire et moderniser les deux bâtiments. D’après une source, le combustible nucléaire et l'ensemble de l'électronique seront remplacés, les éléments mécaniques vérifiés, réparés, et les réacteurs nucléaires seront révisés.

"D'ici fin avril 2013, le K-239 Carpe devrait être transféré au chantier naval. Au cours de cette période on procédera à une estimation des défauts et on approuvera le plan des travaux.
Ils commenceront dès cet été et devraient durer 2 à 3 ans dans le meilleur des cas", a expliqué un représentant de Zvezdotchka, avant d’ajouter qu'en dépit de leur âge, les coques des sous-marins en titane étaient "en parfait état".

"Contrairement à l'acier, le titane ne subit pas la corrosion et si on enlevait le revêtement en caoutchouc qui absorbe le bruit, on verrait que la carcasse est comme neuve", a-t-il ajouté.

Selon les informations préliminaires, les sous-marins en titane seront dotés de nouveaux sonars, de systèmes d'information et de contrôle de combat, de radars avec une station radio-électronique et d'un système de navigation GLONASS/GPS. De plus, les armements des sous-marins seront remplacés afin de pouvoir tirer des missiles de croisière du système Calibre (Club-S), y compris sur des cibles terrestres.

La solidité des sous-marins en titane a fait ses preuves en 1992 lorsque le Kostroma a percuté le sous-marin américain de classe Los Angeles, dans la mer de Barents. Le sous-marin russe avait subi quelques dégâts au niveau de la passerelle, tandis que le sous-marin américain avait été retiré du service.

Selon l'expert militaire indépendant Dmitri Boltenkov, le sous-main nucléaire en titane est un "patrimoine national".

"La remise en service d'un groupe de sous-marins nucléaires polyvalents est l'un des plus importants programmes de la marine. Malheureusement, seulement un tiers des sous-marins sont opérationnels et le retour du projet 945 est indéniablement une bonne nouvelle. Après les travaux, les quatre sous-marins devraient être remis en service au sein de la 7ème division des forces sous-marines de la flotte du Nord et seront basés à Vidiaevo.
