There are lots of map graphics like this out there, but this is by far my favourite - and not just because of the catchy music and years changing on the beat, though that helps! It's worth watching a few (dozen) times.
The last way of visualising the data (from 6 mins) is something I haven't seen before. I've been enjoying picking a name and watching it move around on the map.

In the museum in my home town, there's a model of the surrounding area, and when you press various buttons, little lights flash to show the location of landmarks. These graphics are a bit like that, but for US states. Impressively, you can watch the changing popularity of hundreds of different girls' names. Apologies if there goes your day.
