The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) publishes various analyses on first names:

- the list of the most popular names of newborns is published annually in August since 1987. This list shows which names were most frequently given in each language area during the previous year.
More information is available in French, German and Italian.

- an online tool is available to search the names of persons living in Switzerland and to display their frequency of use for a selected age group.

One country, four top names lists - one for each of Switzerland's official languages.  Emma, Lara, the Julia-family, the Sophie-family, Noah, Liam and the Leo-names are popular all over the place; the German-speakers love their Italian names (but not always the same ones as Italian-speakers); and my favourite surprise is Levin as no.4 for boys in German areas.
