We’ve all heard some oh-so unfortunate tale of how bitterly little Frankie Aveline Taylor (or some variation of such a name) was bullied in school. Or worry about how Emerson Leeland-Keller may fare when his school friends put the pieces together and gleefully race to tease him mercilessly. Yes, good initials are often

When I was a preteen, I was verifiably obsessed with initial names, for both sexes. I thought they were the absolute coolest, and gave so many to my own characters—main, secondary, and minor. D.J. (Donald Joseph), M.J. (Michael Joseph), R.J. (Ronald Joseph), T.J. (Tina Jasmine), R.R. (Ralph Roger), B.B. (Bonny Barbie), J.J. (Jade Jacqueline), L.C.…

Mandy and Taylor named their firstborn son “August,” an English name that means “Great” or “To Increase.” In her post, Mandy went into detail into why they chose this name. “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we always loved the name… so it was settled very early on in our book.”
The image Mandy used was of a blanket that had August’s name written on it. Turns out, the blanket was a sentimental gift. “For our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the “A” (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and “T” (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt. Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day.” Such a precious and meaningful gift to pass on to their son!
In August’s birth announcement, the This Is Us star referred to her son as “Gus,”

And we’ve seen famous examples of this type of sibset in the Kardashians and Duggars, with one letter determining the names of the whole family. Even I have swooned over my imaginary allit

“When I was a baby, people would ask, ‘What’s that baby’s name? He’s very handsome! He’s so good-looking!” he continued, jokingly. “My sisters would holler at me, ‘JJ!' So it stuck. My earliest memories in life, from when I was three years old, I was always (called) JJ.”
