The Productivity Tricks Of Seven Successful Entrepreneurs

The Productivity Tricks Of Seven Successful Entrepreneurs | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Successful entrepreneurs have a lot of things in common; one is knowing how to make the best use of their time. When the clock is ticking and they are under pressure to deliver, many have a favourite productivity hack to ensure things get done on time. Here, seven entrepreneurs share their tried and tested ways of being more productive.

Create artificial deadlines

Business expert and author of The Startup Coach Carl Reader uses a clever technique of creating artificial deadlines to guarantee a productive finish.

“One of my favourite tricks is the ‘train journey to nowhere,” he said. “I book a return train ticket, don't take my mobile phone, and set a completion target for the journey. With a clear deadline and no distractions, I find that I often produce more than I would in the office in a whole day. It's great if you can tie this around meetings that you need to travel to, but if not, the productivity boost is well worth the cost of a train ticket.”

#HR 4 Ways To Make Your Employees Love Training

#HR 4 Ways To Make Your Employees Love Training | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

From teaching employees the basics of your technology infrastructure to helping them develop new insight and skill sets, training is a necessity in many companies. And while stand-and-deliver instructors in classroom settings make up 46% of training hours, according to a 2015 report by Training magazine, managers are increasingly adopting new formats and methods of training to both improve employee satisfaction and increase effectiveness.

"What is changing, but albeit much too slowly, is thinking much more about the whole learning ecosystem and what has to happen before people go to training, what has to happen after training," says Roy V.H. Pollock, PhD, chief learning officer at corporate training firm The 6Ds Company and author of The Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning: How to Turn Training and Development into Business Results.

A Practical To-Do List That Will Finally Make Training Seminars Worth Your Time

A Practical To-Do List That Will Finally Make Training Seminars Worth Your Time | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

You finally got approval to go to that pricey training seminar. Maybe you’ll be learning the secrets of entertainers or fishmongers. But do you know how you’re going to deliver a return on the training investment to your company?

"Organizations that send people out for training really need to have some type of a plan from beginning to end," says David Lewis, president and CEO of OperationsInc., a human resources consulting firm. And if your organization isn’t providing such a framework, it’s up to you to do so, so that you can not only prove that it was worthwhile, but also to open the door for future training.

Here is what you should be doing before, during, and after to maximize the return on investment.

A lot of well meaning organisations like sending their employees for seminars and trainging sessions. The idea is that these in-service training programs will help their employees ratain their edge. Unfortunately, simply sending employees for trainings might not work unless these training sessions are backed up by a pre-training checklist and a post-training feedback over a period of time. Trainings introduce the attendee to a new ideas and innovative methods, but then over a periosd of time, these ideas fizzle out! Sustainibilty is an issue, and the second most  serious problem is that attrition rates might rob the organisation of the presence of such people.
