Disney/Marvel has inked a rather epic deal with Netflix: four series with 13 episodes each, all leading up to a final team-up miniseries. The subjects of those series: Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. a great strategic move: 2nd tier heroes who won't make it to big screen deployed for TV shows. Spinning an old asset is always one of the best marketing decisions you can make.

In the midst of the massive geek Mecca that is San Diego Comic-Con, the big Marvel Studios movie panel had all the theater of a presidential campaign rally. Tom Hiddleston appeared in costume as Loki, the bad guy from Thor, and rallied the crowd in character. Then: so many movie stars, including the full casts of the upcoming Captain America sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy. And just when it seemed like it was over, Joss Whedon, patron saint of nerds, walked out for a Steve Jobsian one-more-thing and introduced the first teaser for The Avengers sequel. Eight thousand fans, some of whom had been waiting in line since the night before, shrieked like their souls were being ripped from their bodies. Click to read it all -

Great and very interesting article!! I'm a fan of the Man fo Steel and my thesis for my degree was on him this is the title of my work: "Superman on television and in the case of Smallville transformation of the hero in contemporary seriality"
