Luxembourg's parliament has voted to introduce plurilingual education as well as 20 hours a week free-of-charge in crèches.

The main focus of the reform is the introduction of Luxembourgish and French within crèches for all children aged between one and four.

Parents of children within the same age bracket will also be able to benefit from free childcare for 20 hours per week for 46 weeks a year. Low-income families or large families will also be entitled to tariff reductions for children up to 12 years old.

The changes come into force in October.
