Similar to the models used in hospitality and transport, Luxembourg company Popwork has launched the first European platform that allows users to find and reserve flexible workspaces, co-working spaces, meeting rooms and conferencing facilities, based on the evaluations of other users.
www.pop.work enables each mobile worker to find the flexible workspace that suits his needs, referenced by social recommendations, and can reserve it instantly.
In a society that increasingly advocates flexibility in work, via the "home office" or “mobile work space", the global market for flexible workspaces generated €17 billion in 2015.
Increasingly popular with companies, they are also favoured by self-employed workers. who accounted for 16% of the European workforce in 2015.
Maxime Belair, CEO and co-founder, explained that the initiative arose out of bitter experience.
”In September 2015, two of Popwork's future co-founders, Laurent Lafond and Benjamin Caillier, then in transit in an airport, had a disastrous meeting room in the basement that they could not choose beforehand. The idea of the startup immediately germinated in their heads!“
The company hopes that a partnership agreement they have just signed with Technoport will strengthen its anchorage and develop its platform on the Grand Duchy.
