On Tuesday 6 April 2021, Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, visited the premises of Spire Global Luxembourg, established in Luxembourg City since 2017 as the European headquarters and subsidiary of Spire Global.

In 2017, the Spire group chose to set up in the Grand Duchy because of local expertise in the space sector and an environment conducive to the development of innovative and technological space activities with high added value. Spire Global Luxembourg carries out engineering, infrastructure design, low Earth orbit satellite operations, data analysis and business development activities from its site in Luxembourg. The Spire Global group is currently preparing its initial public offering (IPO) in New York which should be set up in the coming months.

Spire Global's reputation for data is rooted in its constellation of 100 nano-satellites manufactured and operated by the company. Active in the space data industry, Spire Global is a world-class data collection and analysis company that uses proprietary satellite technology to forecast weather conditions and track the movements of ships and planes.

Jeune société spécialisée dans l’exploitation de petits satellites et de leurs données, l’américaine Spire Global va poser ses valises au Luxembourg pour y ouvrir son siège européen. Avec le soutien de l’État et du Luxembourg Future Fund.

Le gouvernement luxembourgeois a annoncé ce mercredi l’arrivée au Luxembourg de la société américaine Spire Global, nouvel acteur du domaine spatial.

Spire Global, société spécialisée notamment dans la récolte et l’exploitation de données tirées de petits satellites, active aux États-Unis, mais également en Asie, ouvrira un bureau à Luxembourg qui lui servira de siège européen pour le développement de ses services.

The Luxembourg Government and Spire Global signed a cooperation agreement to develop, through the opening of a European HQ by the US-based company, several key activities in the Grand Duchy focused on space platform engineering, data analytics, infrastructure engineering and business development.

The office in Luxembourg will serve as Spire’s full-service European headquarters. Spire is a satellite powered data company with offices in the US, Europe and Asia offering products for global ship tracking and high frequency weather data.
