SES Networks, a communications satellite company based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, has been selected to oversee a project aiming to extend high-speed communications infrastructure throughout Burkina Faso.

SES Networks will provide a "full end-to-end solution, including wireless terrestrial communication and integration with the available optical-fibre backbone" as it aims to connect more than 800 sites for e-government, education and health.

The Luxembourgish company will provide maintenance support from Luxembourg, as well as establish a local presence in Burkina Faso.
