In FileMaker tooltips are small boxes that pop up when a user hovers over an object in Browse or Find modes. They are useful in providing additional details about the selected object and ultimately could save you from producing a separate help screen or user instructions for your solution.
Tooltips work great in FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Advanced, FileMaker WebDirect and runtime solutions, but don’t make sense in FileMaker Go on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad – simply because the hover state (or mouse-over) does not exist for these touch devices.
