With Filemaker 14 we have the ability to use SVG files for our icons which are small, light weight files that can be sized as large as you want with no loss in image quality and as an added bonus they can be styled with hover states, and conditional formatting! Basically SVG files are awesome!
The only problem is that they aren’t nearly as common as PNG files, and while Filemaker does come with some great built in icons to get you started, their simply aren’t enough to deal with all the weird icons most Filemaker developers need at their disposal.
I’ve always been a big fan of Syncfusion’s Metro Studio tool which has an excellent selection of royalty free icons, but they didn’t export to SVG very well for Filemakers purposes, so I created a little database that lets you search and find icons like Metro Studio, and exports them to a Filemaker friendly format.
