CRM FileMaker App: How it works | YouTube (4'07")

This video will walk you through how to use the CRM app.

You'll see how sales users navigate from a dashboard to see their open opportunities and log follow-up interactions.

Mobile sales users can view a contact's location in a dynamic map to make in-person sales calls easier.

Plus they can update the contact's information and close the sale from anywhere.

A management dashboard gives an overview of the company's conversion rate and recently closed sales.

Brought to you by FileMaker, Inc.

Building an iOS App from a FileMaker Database
As you may be aware FileMaker Inc have given developers a toolset ("SDK") for creating standalone apps for iPhone and iPad, from FileMaker databases. The process is a little tricky and there're plenty of things to be aware of...

But it's worth it!

The key thing is that once you've got a standalone app, it's much easier for users to have your database as an app just like any other app, as an icon sitting on the iPhone or iPad rather than buried away under FileMaker Go.

The other advantages are that it just looks and behaves like a standard native app. It opens quickly, with it's own splash screen and it's easier to install. In fact you can even sell (or give it away) through the App Store if you've built something that you want to distribute widely. More on deployment and distribution options later.

Mobile commerce: should you have a site or an app? | Filemaker tips

Mobile commerce: should you have a site or an app? | Filemaker tips | Learning Claris FileMaker | Scoop.it
One trend I've noticed lately is that the few UK retailers that have launched mobile commerce services have opted to do this via mobile apps rather than a mobile website.

...

Is there an argument for producing an app rather than a mobile site?

Or should retailers be looking to reach as many customers as possible with a mobile site?

Or should they have both?

I've listed some of the arguments for and against...
