Summary of Position: Deliver measurable business process improvements as a result of company continuous improvement activity. Lead Lean initiatives, continuous improvement training and metric management to drive results and develop a strong continuous improvement culture. Measure the effectiveness of business process improvement project activity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Drive the continuous improvement culture to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction and continuous improve profitability through the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies. Partner with all levels of the organization to drive change, create buy-in and add value through CI initiatives. Create and maintain training processes to ensure the ongoing Lean/Six Sigma education of all company associates. Manage formal cost-savings projects, assisting project leaders with scope development, resource constraints, measurement and recognition. Plan and oversee Lean Kaizen events targeted at improving operations and business performance, with the inclusion of shop floor associates when possible. Serve as business unit point person with Apogee on Lean/CI initiatives and audits. Develop strategic CI/Kaizen roadmap that aligns with company goals and objectives. Train, coach and mentor others at all organizational levels to apply Lean, Six Sigma and other CI methodologies and toolsets. Drive the development of sound business process metrics and CI milestones. Provide the organization with status updates on continuous improvement goals, progress and results. Work with each functional area to develop standard communication tools, tier meeting procedures and visual work place practices. Monitor new CI/process improvement best practices used by other companies, making recommendations for their application at Linetec if appropriate. Mentor project teams in standard project management practices to ensure favorable results from project team efforts. Hold teams accountable for results and optimization of overall business processes. Coordinate internal Lean/5S/CI audit activity. Ensure written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key processes are in place Identify external process improvement resources as appropriate. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of a 4-year bachelors' degree in a related field plus formal training in Lean and Six Sigma methodology. Formal training in project management strongly preferred. 5+ years of positive results in a continuous improvement leadership role. Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment Previous experience leading and completing group projects, meeting established timelines, budgets and deliverables. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects effectively and in an organized manner. Financial acumen and experience with metric creation, cost savings calculation and productivity measurement. Previous success in negotiating for shared resources, collaborating across functional group and process change management. Effective training and facilitation skills Demonstrated aptitude to apply Lean tools and methodologies. Computer proficiency (Word, SPC Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Epicor) Physical Demands: Must be able to travel (less than 25%) Must be able to work off-shifts hours on occasion to support Lean/CI/Kaizen activity. Light - typical of an office environment or light industrial Required to sit or stand and move about the facility Occasional lifting required Work Environment: 75% exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery and noise). Office duties require sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on a computer. Position involves limited travel. No significant physical exertion required. Other Duties As Assigned

Prefer individuals who are at least Green Belts. Six Sigma level problem solving not needed. -Want individuals who understand how to incorporate Daily Lean Management processes. Establishing work center metrics, getting operators ideas daily on how to improve anything in their control and take ownership of their processes. -Need individuals who have applied Lean concepts to office environment also. Flow of information concept is very important. Desired Skills/Education: -Would prefer a 4-year Engineering degree or Bus Degree, or a 2-year Technical degree with much hands-on experience. -At least 5 years of progressive CI/Lean Experience -Ability to lead 3-5 day Kaizen events and conduct engaging training sessions -Must be passionate about CI/Lean-Live it, breathe it , sleep it!
