The Centre for New Writing at The University of Manchester is delighted to host the 3rd British and Irish Contemporary Poetry Conference. Like its predecessor conferences, at St Anne’s in Oxford and Queens University Belfast, they aim to engage poets and critics in new conversations about recent British and Irish poetry, re-assessing and contesting prevailing ideas about poetry’s relation to the present and the past, and tracking new developments in poetics.

The conference will include readings and keynote addresses by Paul Muldoon, Don Paterson, Gwyneth Lewis, Clair Wills, Matthew Campbell, Michael Symmons-Roberts, Sean O’Brien, Patrick McGuinness and Leontia Flynn, Peter Fallon and Vona Groarke.
