10 Math Tutorial YouTube Channels Not Named Khan Academy - Free Tech 4 Teachers | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
One of the most popular posts of all time on this blog featured math tutorial YouTube channels for high school and college students. That post was originally created as a response to an email from a reader who was seeking suggestions for math videos that were not on Khan Academy. This evening I took some time to update my list of math tutorial channels on YouTube that are not Khan Academy. Here's the new list.

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"Creating an eBook online is no rocket science and anyone with the rudimentary knowledge of how to use internet can get his/her eBook up and viral in a couple of minutes provided the content part of it is already written in a word document. I find the typing and editing part the most  difficult stage in this process;  however, if you just want to set up a short ebook for your students then that would not take you much time.

Just a couple of weeks ago I shared here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a list of great apps  to use to create eBooks on iPad and I received several emails following that post and some of you asked for tutorials on this topic. Here is one of my favorite tutorials on how to create an eBook on iPad that I always recommend to my fellow teachers. Check it out below and share with us what you think of it. Enjoy"

There are various ways to use technology in the classroom, but how long does it take to prepare lessons through technology? They say "Don't take your work home" because it can seriously affect one's family and home-life, but is there enough time in the day to prepare effective lessons without taking your job home? Teachers are not paid enough to create their own lesson plans using technology - let along to teach, with all of the constant changing standards!

Book Creator for iPad – updated again for greater e-book functionality (tutorial)

Book Creator for iPad – updated again for greater e-book functionality (tutorial) | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"A lot of iPad users in schools have already heard of Book Creator for iPad. I’ve written about it before on my blog before. Nevertheless, I have put together a how to guide in different formats (ebook, PDF and video) to showcase its features and highlight its new features just added in a recent update that how to guides online don’t feature at the moment. ( the how to guide included in the app is still the original guide that doesn’t include half the current features). It’s one of my must have apps for my school and the tutorials are to support my staff and students, most who still haven’t used the app yet,  in learning how to use the app. While others reading this may have checked the app out before, these tutorials may still be of use for you."

It's been a very effective method for creating screen based tutorials on computer for a number of years. With the advent of screencasting apps on the iPad, screencasting has now become a great option for the creation of multimedia student presentations."
