How to make a Pumpkin Piano (using a Makey Makey) | The Kid Should See This | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
How do you make a piano out of pumpkins? In this autumnal video, Maddie Moate and Greg Foot create a pumpkin piano with the help of a Makey Makey plug, clip, and play invention kit. We also get a quick tutorial about how circuits work, specifically how a lightbulb works.

If you’d like to make your own pumpkin, persimmon, peach, pear, potato, banana or other kind of piano, Moate included a link to the Makey Makey program they used here. You can get your own Makey Makey kit on MakeyMakey.com or on Amazon. There’s also the Makey Makey GO for smaller projects.

How to Create Easy DIY MaKeyMaKey Storage - @DianaLRendina #makered #pure #genius

How to Create Easy DIY MaKeyMaKey Storage - @DianaLRendina #makered #pure #genius  | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
When I first started the Stewart Makerspace back in 2014, one of the earliest tools that I purchased was a MaKeyMaKey.  My students loved it, and because they are so affordable (only $50 each) I was able to get a set of 10 of them through a DonorsChoose project, allowing students to work on longer term projects without having to take it apart everytime.  However, storing that many MaKeyMaKeys can be tricky.  I started out with keeping them in the original boxes and storing them all together in a large plastic box, but it became difficult to wrangle all the wires back in each time.

Makey Makey Madness @ColleenGraves

Makey Makey Madness @ColleenGraves | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"One of my most favorite things I’ve made in the last month is this gigantic playable Makey Makey.  I can’t believe I never thought to make one before! I saw an example by Jen Gilbert at ISTE and another on the Makey Makey Educators Facebook group by Jason Quail of Amazeum. I just knew this had to be my first tutorial now that I’m part of the Joy Labz team. Find the Instructables here."

Top 5 Lessons for Integrating Makey Makey Into Your Curriculum

Top 5 Lessons for Integrating Makey Makey Into Your Curriculum | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
By far the most popular and widely used Makey Makey lesson in schools is designing a game in Scratch and creating handmade controllers with Makey Makey. (In 2015, Diana Rendina and I dubbed this the #makeymakeychallenge.) Yet you can go so much further with this digital duct tape. Here are some of my favorite ways to get a little more STEM from your banana.
