America’s top doctor says governments’ failure to better regulate social media is ‘insane’

The latest World Happiness Report makes for depressing reading, ironically, with the US Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy suggesting that children's unregulated use of social media has had a marked effect upon their happiness.

 

As a result, whilst the global average level of happiness is broadly stable, that of young people aged 15-24 in the US, Australia and New Zealand has dipped below that of those aged 25+.
