Global Fund urges UK and other donors to pledge billions to get efforts to end diseases by 2030 ‘back on track’ after catastrophic impact of Covid

The Global Fund has expressed concerns that the impact of Covid has derailed attempts to end a number of diseases by 2030, such as malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS. 

 

They argue that without a significant increase in funding, we will be unable to overcome these diseases by the 2030 deadline and that would, of course, have a detrimental effect upon on development in the developing world.

2021 saw countries grapple with climate change's economic challenges, and Covid's continuing impact.
Graham Watson's insight:

A summary of the impact of the two major issues of 2021 on the global economy - climate change and COVID. Not much in the way of theory but a recap nonetheless, and a rather worrying sense that all the 'achievements' of COP26 have added more hot air to the atmosphere than they have concrete achievements.
