Bank for International Settlements warns that economies, such as in the UK, need policies to cool price growth

One for the - that's why they earn the big bucks file - with the Bank for International Settlements suggesting that governments such as the UK are going to need to adopt deflationary policies such as cutting public spending or increasing taxes to cool their economies and get inflation under control. Wow! Who would have thought it?

It's always nice to see people in positions of authority, paid many multiples of my salary stating the bleedin' obvious, but here goes...

 

Agustin Carstens, the Director of the Bank of International Settlements is quoted as suggesting that central bankers need to maintain their current counter-inflationary stance. Well, I never.
