Since my first blog post on educational podcasting almost 8 years ago, podcasting and more specifically educational podcasting has become mainstream. At the core of the podcasting experience is the idea of creating a series of audio episodes with the intent of educating, entertaining, starting a discussion around a particular topic, raising awareness, or simply for establishing a communicative channel with a target audience which could be your students, fellow teachers and colleagues or the general Internet audience.

Online Audio Extractor is a handy software for audio extracting. It can help you to extract sound streams from your favorite videos and save them as OGG, MP3, Wave or FLAC files.

The interface is very simple. To extract audio tracks from video files, just open video from your computer, select proper output format, and click the "Extract audio" button.

The application supports all major video formats (AVI, FLV, MP4, MPG, MOV, RM, 3GP, WMV, VOB and other)

If you are looking for a good and free tool to create educational podcasts, Anchor is definitely one of the options I would recommend. First, Anchor is easy to use: simply log in to your account on the web or install the mobile app (supports both Android and iOS) and start recording using your device-integrated mic or an external one. You can also import recorded audio you have on other apps and use it with your own recordings.
