10 Charts Comparing Popular Ed Tech Tools | Free Technology for Teachers | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

Over the last six weeks of 2014 I published a series of charts comparing popular ed tech tools. Judging by the number of visits to those posts, the charts were popular. Someone asked me this week if I had put them all together in one place. I hadn't until now. In this Google Drive folder you will find ten charts comparing popular ed tech tools.

Last night I posted a copy of my iPad Summit presentation. The presentation was created in Google Slides. I forgot to share it as view only and instead only selected publish to the web in my settings. I have changed that setting so that now anyone who has a Google Account will be able to make a copy of the slides for themselves.

Flipped Classrooms Can't Be Passive Environments | Free Technology for Teachers | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

This afternoon I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff Bailey present at the ACTEM conference in Augusta, Maine. Jeff shared his advice for developing a flipped classroom environment. You can find his workshop page here [https://sites.google.com/a/rsu10.net/summer-tech-institute/flipped-classroom ].

Andrew Macrae's curator insight, October 12, 2014 9:29 PM

Richard Byrne always shares great ICT resources. This is a brief article which actually focuses on the work of Jeff Bailey and includes a link to a Prezi by Bailey. The title seems obvious to me though. I don't think any learning environment is ever at its best when it is passive. Worth a read.

Love this infographic - walks students (Grade 5 +) through the use of Google search strategies. I've put this up in the classroom so that I can refer to it. With primary school kids, its not really a 'work alone' resource but it is great for using as a reference point to direct their research and search skills.

Melissa Marshall's curator insight, August 26, 2014 11:30 PM

A great infographic to remind kids on how to find precisely what they are looking for. Remember, Google is not a person - do not ask it questions! Instead, use precise keywords and get familiar with the Advanced tools.
