Framework for flexible learning in higher education | Higher Education Academy

Framework for flexible learning in higher education | Higher Education Academy | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
This framework* has been designed by the HEA to support you in offering students choices in how, what, when and where they learn: the pace, place and mode of delivery.  There are multiple benefits of flexible learning.  It can empower students to become independent and autonomous, and can help foster graduate attributes that will enable individuals to manage the complexities of 21st century life.  When well supported, flexible learning can positively impact upon student recruitment, retention and progression as well as widening participation.

Proposing a sustainable Teaching Excellence Framework - Wonkhe

Proposing a sustainable Teaching Excellence Framework - Wonkhe | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

As the Conservative Party conference gets under way and Green Paper expectations rise, much attention is focused on the principles and parameters of a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) for higher education.

This is an important opportunity, but not without risk. As the HE sector champion of teaching quality, the Higher Education Academy (HEA) is already supporting institutional, subject and individual trajectories towards excellence; indeed, this has been its core task for more than a decade. In addition to support, the HEA is in a position to mitigate potential risks associated with launching a TEF – for the government, funding bodies and institutions alike – if its advice is heeded in current political debates.

Flexible Pedagogies: technology-enhanced learning | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

This report has been developed as part of our research project Flexible Pedagogies: preparing for the future. Technology-enhanced learning is one of five main focus strands embedded within the theme of flexible learning. It offers a summary and analysis of the current state of play, as well as recommendations for developing robust and appropriate flexible pedagogies with a view to influencing policy, future thinking and change within the rapidly-shifting landscape of learning and teaching in HE.

Transforming assessment in higher education: new resource and launch of pilot scheme

A Marked Improvement contends that assessment practices in many higher education institutions (HEIs) have not kept pace with changes in the context, aims and structure of higher education over recent years. They can no longer, the publication says, do justice to the outcomes we expect from a university education, and satisfy an increasingly diverse student population.

Flexible pedagogies: new pedagogical ideas | HE Academy

The report identifies six 'new pedagogical ideas' for the future of an increasingly flexible HE which offer new pathways for graduate attributes or capabilities". These are:
- learner empowerment;
