Core to the Collaborate project approach is the Dimensions of Work-Intergrated Assessment model to help develop the implementation of work-integrated assessment.   Underlying the model are various technologies that can support staff in moving through these dimensions.  The project is developing a set of 'Tech Trump' cards (formerly Top Trumps) which summarise the strengths of everyday technologies in relation to the model.  (NB these are still work in progress)

Vitae and Digital Literacy in the development of researchers

Vitae stakeholders include researchers (staff and students) and researcher development professionals.

Researchers are increasingly using DL to enhance research using technologies in a social and professional context and will benefit professionally from operating more effectively in an increasingly digital research environment. Uncertainty and lack of confidence exists in using technology in a research context and interest in becoming more engaged is evident from the recent high demand for DL focused events and resources that Vitae have made available.

The Design Studio / iTest

A Framework For Student Motivation In A Blended Classroom

The iTest is a short quiz which highlights the importance of being a digitally literate student and offers ideas on how students can integrate more technologies into their University ‘career’.

Thirty categorised questions provide students with a visual representation of their personal technology perceptions and uses within an academic context, and when looking beyond graduation to employment. The results can be plotted on a radar graph to create the visual aspect and can also be recorded on a separate sheet, which can then be given to a module tutor.

The Design Studio / What the Curriculum Design projects tell us about evaluation

Overview

The Jisc Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design programme set out to develop innovative technology-supported approaches to curriculum design, approval and review. The programme was perhaps unique in providing four-years of funding, and this duration presented some challenges in planning for evaluation. In addition, the focus on technology-supported curriculum design was not well documented in the literature, again a challenge when planning evaluation activity. Nonetheless, Jisc made clear that project teams should undertake in-depth baseline and ongoing evaluation activity, although the actual process or methodology for doing so was up to project teams to decide. Indeed, the projects went on to use a wide range of approaches. This page provides an overview of the ‘philosophy’ or approach to evaluation that different projects applied.
