This article i really enjoyed and I even went through all the videos. At my current campus we have the current dilemma where our students are scoring low on science state test. This article gave me Ted talk resources that are useful not only to educators but for students as well. It as well had ted talks from students presenting their current issues and how they are working though illnesses like cancer. Videos as well were very motivational and inspirational, which will allow me to use to build community and intention with my students. It is one thing for me to tell them day in and day out but when they hear it from students and kids their age that are going through similar circumstances, they relate better.

As motivation is one of the issues that concern me the most in terms of language learning, the video that mostly caught my attention was: the surprising truth about what motivates us. The video made a clear reference to the impact of enhancing the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in company workers, but it works the same in the educational settings. The video said that it is not enough to provide rewards for work if people do not feel that they are enough for all the effort they made, which is the same with just giving good grades to our students. The main suggestion about motivation is that we should stimulate the intrinsic motivation that all of us have hidden somewhere inside us, we should allow our second language learners to be autonomous, to work on their mastery and to find a purpose on what they are doing to be motivated to learn.

In his TED Talk, Herman Narula speaks of the advancement of video game creation and the social networking/opportunity that he hopes will come with it. Narula teaches the audience about new technology that gives people the ability to run simulations which can create towns, cities, civilizations, and even whole worlds. He explains that this can all be done wherever there is a smart device or gaming console, and that the impact of this new technology is more powerful than everyone might expect. New age video games has already started to provide large amounts of people with jobs. Whether it's through creating, testing, or playing, people are making money because of video games. I personally think this is a good way to look at the future of gaming. While there are a lot of people who look at gaming and think, "People need to find more productive things to do with their time," I see this as a real opportunity for economic gain in the world as a whole. In some cases, this could even be like a new form of art. The creativity and imagination that goes into these simulations are completely unlimited, and I think there's a lot of space for people to make things for their enjoyment, as well as the enjoyment of others. Narula states that 2.6 billion people play video games, and that that number is only going to grow. Moving forward, I can definitely see this being like a new form of social media, a chance for people to meet, through similarities in interest and creativity.
