How Technology Can Increase Rigor In The Classroom
Shelly Reckow VanVoorst's curator insight, October 24, 2015 7:04 PM

This article speaks to the idea of using technology to add rigor to the classroom and the assignments. Rather than just depending on technology to complete the low level activities (such as word processing), teachers should be adding rigor and higher order thinking skills to the assignments through the use of technology. Others could utilize the information in this article to realize and understand how technology could not only add higher order thinking skills but rigor as well, for all skill levels of students. Increasing the quality of the lesson should not be limited to just the advanced students, but the opportunity should be provided and adjusted to meet the needs of all students.

Karinna Lazcano's curator insight, June 9, 2022 12:48 AM
Technology can increase rigor in the classroom.  Using technology as a tool can promote higher-order thinking by having them analyze, reflect, synthesize, and create solutions.  Raise your students expecataions by creating video blogs on summarizing and comparing and contrast.  Use Glogster by having students create their own math problem in a multi media interective poster.  Using these tools will raise the rigor to greater learning.
Minerva Garza's curator insight, September 18, 2022 12:29 PM
Technology is a powerful tool that can help teachers increase classroom rigor. As technology is integrated into the classroom, teachers should consider how its use reflects their students’ needs and how it can be incorporated. Incorporating these five principles will help teachers best meet their students’ needs and raise the rigor of their learning to new levels.
