The Administrator's Role in Technology Integration

What teachers want school administrators to know about technology!
Jennifer Colin's curator insight, October 24, 2015 1:33 PM

This is one of the most practical articles on technology I have read, and I especially like that it is catered specifically toward principals.  Its main point, that principals themselves need to use and be knowledgeable in technology, seems like common sense.  However, we would probably be surprised to discover how many administrators are not doing either.  Modeling is one of the most effective ways to teach anything, so why should technology use be any different? Encouragement and support are also key.  If a teacher does not feel supported in what he or she is doing, there will most likely be hesitancy to continue it, especially if the principal is not doing it either.  "Staff members are more apt to use technology if administrators feel strongly about technology use for reasons that are based in fact -- not merely on the assumption that they need to 'keep up' with other schools or districts." I couldn't agree more!
