YEASTRACT+ Included in the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures | iBB | Scoop.it

YEASTRACT+, an e-infrastructure for research on gene and genomic regulation in yeasts proposed by the Biological Sciences Research Group (BSRG) of iBB and the Knowledge Discovery and Bioinformatics (KDBIO) Group of INESC-ID, was included in the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures as a node of the Portuguese Biological Data Network (BioData.pt). BioData.pt is a digital infrastructure in the context of the European consortium ELIXIR that aims at exploiting biological data through its compilation and annotation, together with the creation of formal contexts (ontologies) and informatics tools (databases, algorithms).

YEASTRACT+ envisages the continuous updating and extension of the pre-existing digital structure YEASTRACT (http://www.yeastract.com/), a tool for the analysis and prediction of transcription regulatory associations at the gene and genomic levels in the model eukaryote and microbial cell factory Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Yeastract+ will extend the scope of action of YEASTRACT to different S. cerevisiae strains and other yeasts species of clinical and industrial interest (e.g. Candida glabrata, C. albicans, Zygosaccharomyces baillii).
