Ana Marisa Mendes Gonçalves Vinhais Guedes will be defending her Ph D thesis in Bioengineering (MIT Portugal program) at Instituto Superior Técnico, thursday the 25th February 2016 (13:00 H, complexo interdisicplinar). During the last years, and under the supervision of Domingos Henriques from iMM and Cláudia Lobato Silva from BERG-IBB, Ana focused her efforts on the study of the molecular mechanisms regulating pluripotency. The title of Ana's  thesis is “Analysis of the gene regulatory network underlying pluripotenciality in mouse embryonic stem cells”. 

Carla Sofia Monteiro de Moura will be defending her Ph D thesis in Bioengineering (MIT Portugal program) at Instituto Superior Técnico, monday the 4th January 2016 (14:30 H, room PA3). During the last years, and under the supervision of Paulo Bártolo from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and Frederico Ferreira from BERG-IBB, Carla focused her efforts on the design and fabrication of cartilage constructs. The title of Carla's  thesis is “Design and fabrication of zonal cartilage constructs”. 

André Manuel Sardinha Grilo will be defending his Ph D thesis in Biotechnology at Instituto Superior Técnico, wednesday the 17th February 2016 (10:00 H, room PA3). During the last years, and under the supervision of Jorge Leitão from BSRG-IBB, André focused his efforts on the identification of regulatory small non-coding RNAs (sRNAs) from bacteria of the Burkholdeira cepacia complex (Bcc) and on the regulation of gene expression in Bcc bacteria by small non-coding RNAs. The title of Andrés's  thesis is “Identification and characterization of small non-coding RNAs from bacteria of the Burkholderia cepacia complex”.
