GetAtMe "Is it really about hiphop or are you just mad..." | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Man when Dj Bonee said the lyrics in a studio session years ago ( on the cut BRING THE BOOTY ON, Da Niggaz…)  I told Bonee at that time that those were some real profound lyrics.  Why?  Because sometimes lyrics is about speaking in code in a simplified form.  It’s about communicating something to your trybe that the message is really only for them (by trybe I mean fans, see how I just did that… #lsmh) but it’s communicated in a mass market form.  Bonee asked a question at that time that resonates till today?  Is it really about hiphop?

Look some say it’s about the money (yeah right… to get the girls…) and other say it’s about the culture (they already know they can’t get the girls so they created their own subset of importance…) but at the end of the day hiphop is about party music that creates attention to GET THE GIRL… Now there will be those who disagree (I’ve already covered them in my previous comments… #lsmh)

So “is it really about hiphop or are these folks mad cause theses hoes flock when that bass drops…”  Yo, you know Bonee, you might be right
