GetAtMe The UnJust Justice video What really happened to Jimmy Henchman Rosemond?... #ItsAboutTheMoment | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Hip Hop is an industry that at times, sells rumors, that could be lies (or mostly misperceptions) that are packaged as the THE REAL (this is basically common knowledge…).  This music genre that started as party music for nobodies that created a place where they could be somebodies is now at war with its success and its initial lenders.  There seems to be a rewriting of hiphop history going on.

Look its common knowledge that most guys doing beats at times are broke.  That’s not new news, and at time guys who hustled in some way or the other are the scale investors (initial or build up lenders).  Also not new news.  What is becoming new news is that now that some of these artist are questioning contract agreements they signed (Yes, they signed and allowed middlemen to get rid of their money folks and muscle...) that now no one know where the initial startup cash came from, hence my topic.

This video is very clear of how this path and marriage between hip-hop and the streets were made.  The streets usually are the initial lenders not only financially but as far as street juice (it takes a team to create a buzz and teams cost…).  The street buzz turns into attention/ interest and that interest can be molded into a consumer engagement cycle, but none of that happens without money from somewhere.  At times, Jimmy Henchman Rosemond was that money (for different folks…).  It seems that certain situations found it easier to unconsciously dry snitch rather than fulfill their end of the deal (usually that’s preceded by folks at the labels realizing that it aint healthy to extort extorters).  So suddenly, the so called initial investor catches a case from them folks (surprisingly, hmmm…) and sometimes goes to jail.  This might be the case with Mr Rosemond.

Look only the people who dealt with Jimmy knows his truth in only their interaction (as with all interactions) with him.  I don’t know any cat with money who likes to give it away and I also don’t know many debtors that willingly tell folks (well I owe folk some bread).  Especially if they are living a lie financed by the lenders.  The truth can sort of get blurred when you’re living a lie (who wants to explain to a groupie you’re not as rich as you played?).

This video is an in depth look at how Jimmy became Jimmy (a real and interesting look at that).  It’s a good view.  Check it out and the next time you hear an artist saying they didn’t get their bread.  Ask them what was the interest on the bread you borrowed.  Watch as they look at you as they try to figure out what you’re asking.  Like I said, no one knows what went on with a deal with Mr Rosemond unless you were in a deal with Mr Rosemond.  In a business that sells lies as keeping it real at times, at times what’s real gets blurred.
