GetAtMe: "It's About The Sales" | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Yes at the end of the day, "It's all about the sales."  That's the funny thing about todays music business.  You need views, you need likes, you need to be hot, you need the right connect.  You know what you really need?  Fans and sales.  At the end of the day your ultimate trophy in the music busness is your sales and your fans that buy and support your product (notice I said buy and support your music.  I mean really the download is only a dollar on a single and that's less than a candy bar today).  So if sales is my ultimate goals then why are my resources being allocated to likes and views (glad you asked)?  Because someone told you that that's the key and you went for it.

The key to any business is sales and customers (or the chicken or the egg).  Usually it's best to get customers and then sell them your wares but the music business now has made everyone their A&R dept (the fans).   "I need you to view this and tell me you like it." (come on son).  If it's a hit the fans will find it anyway so if you have true fans, then just give them a hit.  Not what you like, not what your producer likes, not what radio likes (athough if they like it it helps), but what your fans like.  So if you take the time to understand your fans as opposed to trying to make them understand you, you probably will have better success.  Lola Monroe is a internet Icon, you mean to tell me that she can't get her fans to download a song at $1.00.  You and I both know that's bullsh*t.  Everyone is so focused on what they want that noone took time to ask the fans what they want and give it to them ( #HugeBusinessMistake "The fans ain't smart enough to know what they want." #Really).  Lola Monroe is a find.  She is the truth.  Now all she needs to do is mobilize her fans and they will be the final vote.( #really she's the truth!!!).

Get your fans online and get their sale.  It's only a dollar or get them something that they will buy for a dollar and sell it.  I bet a porn stars like Abella Anderson can mobilize her fans, they get her movies like they are going out of style.  Sh*t Kim Zolack made like $80,000.00  off her downloads from "TardyForTheParty."  So it can be done.  If you chase budgets as opposed to collecting and pleasing fans wants, then quit crying you came up short because this business is a about hard work and true sales figures #RealTalk.
