GetAtMe YouTube is bringing their own version of American Idol to their original programming... #BestCoversEver

Youtube covers are a staple in today’s music environment and Youtube’s choice of using the idea Best Covers Ever is a great 1st step into YouTube’s 1st serious step into original programming. This idea is such a gimmie and it stays true to what YouTube is about, different and creative programming.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox doesn’t try to acquire this show but YouTube should stick to its guns and take a real shot at being the new cross between HBO and Netflicks. YouTube is in a position to do some real damage because they have access to so much content and Alphabet is so cash flushed. They have the resources to really navigate a win.

Ludacris is a great choice for the host and the concept is solid. I can’t wait for the next Pentatonix, Jessica Sanchez or Vanjess to blow up to stardom due to this new and creative show. This is a good idea that’s overdue.

Ok here's how it went on tonight's show Jay Electronica's freestyle remix ft JayZ (all the buzz last week about JayZ's lyrics dissing Drake. Was this some #HipHopWWE) took the top spot with a rank of 16.6. Kwame and Wingz both loved this cut. JColes' "NewYorkTimes" came in at #2 with a rank of 14 (this JCole cut is hot as were the features by 50Cent and Bas. #GreatSong) and we wound up the night with Jhene Aiko's "TheWorst" Raekwon remix getting a 13.6 rank (all above average ranks. usually every song raned is around 12pts). Wingz gave a great ranking emphasizing that this song was a strong street and mixtape song. At the end of the day Jay Electronica takes the top rank.

TheStreets- This ones gonna creep in the streets. The online buzz will bring it home......... 3.7($$$)

MixTapes- This ones an easy add. This is gonna be a staple on the RnB joints....... 3.4 ($$$)

Clubs- Club jocks are gonna be cool with this one. Grown club music and lounge music will be the play...... 3.4($$$)

Radio- Radio should be all over this one (its been slow so far, I don't know why...) This is a hit with two major performers (come on "The Nae Nae" gettin more spins #SMH). Radio will deliver..........3.7 ($$$)

HitFactor- As I said this song has two main hit performers on this one and the song is R.Kelly strong. Looks like Steve Harvey and Ricky Smiley gotta save the day on this one..................3.2($$$)

Total- 17.4( out of 25 grade B) The B grade is cool but radio will have to deliver this one

Now yall know this cut a hit. Kelly Rowland is by far the "world's sexiest around the way girl". I mean that. Ludacris as usual deliver with his syncopatic ryhme style. Ludacris rhyme style sound like a HBCU marching band (I wouldn't be surprised to hear some of the HBCU schools using this song. It was meant for them.). This is a great song for radio

Who says radio;s not playing the hits, definately not GetAtMe

You know a few months ago when we saw this beautiful young singer on youtube Tinashe, who knew that in the near future she would have a song that would have the most increased plays in urban radio in a week. I mean people knew her, but now people know her. Congrats to Tinashe, the journey has just begun. Tinashe ft SchoolBoyQ "2On".

No doubt that Rico Love was on his way after "TheyDon'tKnow", but now with his next single "BitchesBeLike" get ready for a springtime online anthem about the new IG generation.

2 veterans on a hit song. R. Kelly and Ludacris on "LegShaKin". This is a great song and radio has found it.

All of these songs were GetAtMe3pcSnacks. Just like Sebastian Mikael's "LastNight", Miley Cyrus's "23", LilJohn & DJSnakes'TurnDownForWhat", YoungThug's "Stoner" "Chris Brown's "Loyal" KId Inks "ShowMe" or Bando Jonez's "SexYou". You see at GetAtMe we not only love the great songs but we also love new and emerging artist. No politics, no fluff just great music. As Ive said over and over again. It starts with a hit song and hit perfomances that inspires hit fans.,.
