GetAtMe TopTen- Tory Lanez's LUV goes back to #1 with a surge in urban radio play... #Number1Again | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Okay here’s this edition of the GetAtMe Top Ten.  The cut that’s viraling everywhere this week is The WeekNd’s STARBOY, but it hadn’t had really enough radio play to hit our chart (ohh but it tried…) and it is currently an On Deck item.  Here’s the stats for 10/3/2016

  • Tory Lanez LUV (which apparently urban radio loves…) moved back to num 1 because of a huge surge in urban radio play and DRAM’s BROCCOLI fell to num 2 (still very strong sales numbers…)
  • Usher’s NO LIMIT moved up to num 3 (with strong album sales…) and Drake’s CONTROLLA went to num 4…
  • Rihanna NEEDED ME stayed at num 5 and ChanceTheRapper NO PROBLEM was a new entry at num 6 (I love the dreadheads in the lobby line…#lsmh)
  • Dj Khaled FOR FREE still is holding strong at num 7 and Beyonce HOLD UP moves to num 8…
  • Dj Drama WISHING goes to num 9 (GetAtMeHotNewHit pick last week….) and at num 10 is Lucci’s KEY TO THE STREETS (this song would have been in the top 3 if it just had had some itune sales. It still is only at num 615 on iTunes…)
  • ON DECK is still Young M.A. OOOUUU (still making its way through urban radio…) and like I said earlier, The WeekNd STARBOY is dominating all the other categories in one week and it’s on its way to urban radio and the top of that chart also…

That’s this edition of the GetAtMe TopTen.  Remember “there’s nothing wrong with the record business that a good record can’t cure…”

GetAtMe Top Ten 5/1/2016 Rihanna's WORK stays at #1... #ItsAboutTheMusic | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMe Top Ten

  • Rihanna’s WORK stayed at num1 (this cut has real staying power…) and Desiigner’s PANDA hit num 2 (these 2 only separated by a decimal point… #Wow)
  • Drakes ONE DANCE hit num 3 (this Rihanna/Drake combo has been a monster move…) and num 4 is Bryson Tiller’s EXCHANGE (Tiller is really making moves…)
  • Kevin Gates 2 PHONES hits num 5 (KGates is for real…) and Future LOWLIFE is num 6.
  • Young Greatness MOOLAH hit num 7 and Beyonce’s FORMATION reemerges at num 8 (remember we handicapped this cut right after the Superbowl 3 months ago…).
  • Jeremih’s OUI is num 9 and Dj Luke Nasty MIGHT BE is num 10 (if this song had any itunes sales it would be in the top 5 which lets you know industry push aint enough…).
  • Our ON DECK is Kent Jones’ DON’T MIND (this things gonna be a summer smash...) and Yo Gotti’s LAW (this is a strong street cut…).

GetAtMe TopTen Desiigner's PANDA TAKES #1... #ItsAboutTheMusic

GetAtMe TopTen Desiigner's PANDA TAKES #1... #ItsAboutTheMusic | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Here’s this week’s GetAtMe Top Ten, PANDA finally takes num 1

  • Desiigner’s PANDA finally was able to move from num 2 to num 1 (finally Rihanna let em have the spot… #lsmh) and Drake ONE DANCE is positioned to be the next num 1 (I swear it looks like Drake and Rihanna is trading num 1s at the present moment…)
  • Rihanna’s WORK dropped to num 3 (still holding strong…) and OT Genesis CUT IT stormed up the charts out of nowhere (this cut got strong radio presence all of a sudden…)
  • Jeremih’s OUI is at num 5 and Bryson Tiller’s EXCHANGE comes in at num 6
  • Kent Jones’ DON’T MIND hits a new entry at num 7 (strong cut #DjAlert…) and Future’s LOWLIFE is at num 8.
  • Yo Gotti’s followup to DM, LAW, breaks into the top 10 at num 9 and Young Greatness MOOLAH is num 10.

That’s this week’s GetatMe TopTen.  Desiigner has shocked everyone by legitimately taking num 1.  Remember on my chart I track radio play and itunes sales so when I say its num 1 it’s for real (streams don’t really establish engagement to me, that’s like me giving points for a test drive).  I really believe that radio airplay and itunes sales are the true metrics for a song’s success.  Dj reporting starts the conversation for the other 2 areas but fans buy what they are feeling at that moment and radio plays what they feel sparks fan engagement for their station.
