                Well the Cardi machine continues its assault on the music industry (pregnant and all…)  Cardi continues to make her critics eat their words as the successes just keep rolling in.  This week Cardi’s new album INVASION OF PRIVACY has blitzed the ITunes top ten with 4 singles and over 24,000 downloads combined (“wait Redd didn’t Drake’s NICE FOR WHAT do over 24,000 single in a day by itself?  Yes it did….) but who in a year and a half ago would have said Cardi would have been this huge (actually I said she would over 2 years ago when I first posted a remix I did of her STRIPPER HOES with Gucci Mane I THINK I LOVE HER as a mashup on hulkshare.com ( #checkthereciepts if you think I’m playing…  )

I remember I had industry collegues questioning me about Cardi B as a choice (I knew she had the viral magic and the work ethic.  I saw it)  What I also saw was that she had an almost like blogger connection with her fans which she nurtured (and is still nurturing) not the industry marketing mafia.  As a matter of fact many of the marketers ran to Nicki’s aid fearing to be on the wrong side of a battle (boy were they wrong…)  Cardi works for one reason alone, she know how to hear her own voice when she makes a decision (and that’s important…)  She shines because she makes sure there is never a dull moment.  Well done Ms. Almanzar, well done

• Yo Gotti RAKE IT UP is num 1 this week and this cut really has legs ( it’s funny but THICK by OT Genesis has the same movement but is not selling or on radio…).  This cut looks like it gonna be huge… #BreakItDown
• Chris Brown PRIVACY is num 2 and Chris Brown has another hit (this one climbed out of nowhere and is really making moves…) PRIVACY is gonna do great in urban radio… #Privacy

• Jess Molli ‘IM WITH IT’- This lady also surprised me. She was featured in a thread as a video honey (and they really wasn’t paying attention to her song) but when I heard it the more I mixed it, the more it worked (This cut sound a lot like Young Joc’s ‘ITS GOING DOWN’).  Jess Molli is definitely eye candy but this track works #frfr in the mix (@JessAura on IG)… #JessMolli #ImWithIt

• BTS MIC DROP ft Desiigner This cut is a hot mix from the K Pop group and Desiigner is a perfect feature for this cut… 13.4 pts (40 pts)

Sometimes an artist just shows up out of nowhere (for some reason that somewhere recently seems to be Chicago…).  First it was Dej Loaf, then Tink, now Dreezy (and boy is Dreezy on a roll…).  She came on the scene with her first hit ‘BODY’ and recently she’s had feature cut with Gucci Mane ‘WE GONE RIDE’ and another cut SPAZZ, but man we found 2 cuts that are smokers that’s coming and maybe the other cuts need to be put to the back.  ‘CLOSE TO YOU’ and ‘AFFORD MY LOVE’ not only are smashes but these are very creatively mature songs for this artist (these are grown hit cuts and the production is on point…).  Today’s DjAlert is ‘CLOSE TO YOU’ and here’s the stats” (0-5 with 5 being the highest)

• TRACK 4.5 PTS ($$$$) this track is so hot. T-Pain and Dreezy really put in work on this track.  The bpm is 72 but when sped up to 90+bpm (DjAlert)  this song becomes a solid dance groove… #SmokingTrack
• PERFORMANCE 4.5 PTS ($$$$) Dreezy already has developed her own sing/song style but this track right here show us a more mature Dreezy that has a great potential in the performance area.  T-Pain also delivers with his part (T-Pain is so underrated, this dude does solid tracks period point blank)… #ItsHot
• MUSCLE 3.4 PTS ($$$) The streets are gonna pick up on this and so will online (which they already have).  This cut is already making the mixtapes circle both hiphop and RNB.  The issue will be that the djs and mixtapes will pick this cut but other cuts are being promoted so there may be some confusion… #ThisIsTheOne develop till the 4th quarter and get caught in the holiday sales cycle.  If
• JUICE 3.5 PTS ($$$) Dreezy’s folks did a great job of pushing ‘BODY’ and should have no problem with this cut. This is a great radio cut (will be strong in the middays) and the hookah bars are gonna love this jazzy groove… #ItsInTheMixxx
• HITFACTOR 3.6 PTS ($$$) This cut is a solid cut (very strong female demo) but it’s coming into the 3rd quarter  and may not they commit to this cut and perform and gig it as a single then this one is gonna go.  This is a no brainer for djs who like quality music…. #ItsAHit
