Isn’t it funny that all the things that Gene Simmons is saying about Hip Hop are the very same things that were said about KISS many years ago? All of the same fears and phobias that some traditional rock artist felt about KISS are being echoed by someone that the very same thing was being said about him and KISS as a group. Based on his logic and some traditional rock group’s opinion, KISS don’t belong in the rock hall of fame either.
It’s really ironic that this guy (of all people) has become the voice of rock purity (lsmh). The only reason that Gene Simmons is not being shut down is because he’s rich and he’s now being the voice of a silent majority in the music business. Look if this was Run DMC or any of the chosen Hip Hop acts like the Beastie Boys, you wouldn’t be hearing a peep from the rock community. They just don’t want 50 cent or Rick Ross in the hall of fame and they are using NWA as the door stop. But like I said, it’s funny that the person that at one point was rock’s villianized commercial bitch is now doing the bitching in rock’s name. Its funny how time can changes things.
