Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMe Urban Airplay Report Scorecard for 12/14/2016.  Drake’s FAKE LOVE is num 1…

• Drake FAKE LOVE tops the list this week with over 600+ spin increases (total cume of 17+ million in listening audience) and its num 24 on itunes…#FakeLove
• Future USED TO THIS Future has another one in motion (still slow sales although…).  It had over 400+ spin increases (with 6 million in cume audience).  It was at num 281 on itunes… #GottaSell
• Anime CAROLINE This cut has crept all the way to the top but its number are for real. Over 400+ in spin increases (with a 12 million cume audience) and is at num 23 on itunes…  #ItsLegit
• JCole FALSE PROPHETS JCole is owning the itunes charts right now (with 7 cuts in the top 200… #CountThem).  With 394 in spin increases (just under 400) and a cume audience of 4 million+, it safe to say JCole’s fans are on the move… #Trending
• Khaled LOCATION Now this one came out of nowhere (8 stations added this cut this week).  With over 300+ spins it’s clear that urban radio is taking a chance on this one (cume audience 5 million+) and it sits on itunes at num 351… #SalesTellTheTruth

In the last year (and motivated by The WeekNd's success...) Drake's music has decidedly has a more Hip Pop feel (and that's not a bad problem to have...), so is Drake outgrowing hiphop?  Is Drake transitioning to the Hip Pop world with the Justin Timberlakes, Rihannas and Katy Perrys?  Will Drake soon be in movies( cant you see Drake as an AVENGER or in the next FAST AND FURIOUS), growing into his true role as an entertainer. Is Drake bigger than (or does he even want to be bigger than) beefing with Meek Mill?  We all know he is and it going to be interesting watching his transition.

Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMe HotNewHits.  These are cut that we handicap to be the next hits.  We score them by the track, demographic, market potential, the song and the hitfactor.  We add all the different scores to get our score.  Here’s the stats:

• Kent Jones DON’T MIND 66.2 score grade B    This cut has had the great fortune of good timing (its in a great mix set area…).  After WORK by Rihanna and ONE DANCE by Drake, this cut was set up to win with a pop/dancehall style (great records for the summer pool parties and cookouts…).  This song scored highest in the track category (15 pts out of 20 pts) and the hitfactor (15.2).  Like I said the timing on this cut was key... #Hot
• Drake TOO GOOD ft Rihanna 65.1 score grade B.   This cut is so hot but it seems to be some confusion at the label.  It seems that they are really trying to drive CONTROLLA (you might win a segment of the djs with CONTROLLA but TOO GOOD with Rihanna is a gimmie with the girls and last time I checked Drake’s core buyers are women #IJS).  This is a great song and it would be a shame to lose it in a clutter of new Drake cuts.  It seems that Drake has outgrown hiphop and hip pop is a comfortable place for him (maybe he just like diss records and beefs in the hiphop genre #lsmh).  Drake is gonna be massive in the hippop area.  Hopefully that will be his choice.  This song scored highest in the track (14pts), song (14pts) and The Hitfactor (15.1 pts).  Drake has a solid cut here (like I said with Rihanna this should be a gimmie…).
• Alicia Keys IN COMMON 53.7pts score grade C This cut should be a smash.  The only thing that’s gonna hurt this cut will be the licensing folks and marketing people playing territory games (so if it flops Alicia, you’ll know why).  This cut could definitely blow up due to covers on youtube, covers on vine, dj mashups and remixes.  The marketing companies at times play territory games and the licensing people are just on some some really out of the loop next universe thing when it comes to online fans.  Here’s the real issue 1. Many of the fans are better at creating viral content than the pros that the labels hire and they have the army of followers (not fake followers and reviewer like many of the marketing companies employ.  Here’s a note, the fans know that the threads and review sites are bought and really don’t pay” the for pay for play trolls” any attention.  The fans have their own ideas and opinions #frfr).  Also the fans do it out of respect whereas the professional fans do it for a check #NotTheSameLove.  If the label would get the licensing groups off of youtube with licensing strikes, the fans would do covers and their fans and friends will become engaged with the new songs and they would viral (so by telling the fans, “hey don’t do covers and mashup because we feel you’re making a little money with youtube (and I do mean little), you honestly think that that’s gonna inspire fan engagement and fan loyalty.  Is it really gonna encourage fan to buy (would you if as a fan someone pissed you off)?  Let them get the youtube money and I guarantee it, they’ll have no problem skinning down $1.29 for your new cut.  This is a great song and for no reason should this song fail.  Djs are gonna love remixing this cut (a real key metric in breaking todays cuts are how many djs are making remixes for the cut (these guys don’t want the professional remixes, they want their own mixes or one of their peers (#IJS).  This song scored highest in the track (13pts) and the song (12pts).  This should be smash for Ms. Keys.  It really should..

You know for a while we we’re trying to decide where we wanted GetAtMe to go (and believe me it’s been a process).  So we decided that our relationship with the djs and fans outweighed industry politics.  I was slow to post numbers in the top 100 because industry folks were dumping stream numbers on itunes in an attempt to game the system (that’s an itunes problem not mine).  I came to the conclusion that fans and djs are smart enough (and I saw…) to decipher the info so it’s time to continue.

Like I’ve said before, GetAtMe is a handicapping function to inform Djs on hot new tracks and to inform engaged fans on new and exciting music.  No industry games just info.

This week Drake’s ONE DANCE is at num 1 with over 22,000 downloads a day followed by Desiigner’s PANDA.  Fifth Harmony’s WORK FROM HOME stays in the top 5 (mostly driven by youtube views) and Beyonce’s SORRY is at num 4.  FloRida’s MY HOUSE is num 5 (driven by arena play in the NBA playoffs…). 

Other spotlights are The GhostTown Djs MY BOO’s resurgence with over 4000 downloads a day.  Drake has 3 cuts in the top 10, ONE DANCE, TOO GOOD and CONTROLLA (all GetAtMe handicapped).

Okay here’s our GetAtMe Top Ten in HipHop sales for the week of 5/9/2016.  Drake’s ONE DANCE is #1.

• Drake’s ONE DANCE takes num1 with over 20,000 downloads daily (this dudes on a roll…) and Desiigner’s PANDA stays at num2 (this cut is legit…)
• Beyonce held down both the 3 & 4 slots with FORMATION and HOLD UP respectively (Beyonce has 5 cuts in the top 10…)
• Fifth Harmony WORK FROM HOME came in at num 5 reentering the top 10 (these girls just keep on selling…) and also reentering is FloRida’s MY HOUSE (the NBA loves this song during the playoffs…)
• At num 7 is Beyonce again with SORRY (had the most spin increases in urban radio this week with over 700 spins…) and at num 8 is Drake’s new cut TOO GOOD (another smash…)
• Rihanna’s NEEDED ME is num 10 (on her way back to the top…) and Beyonce rounds out the top 10 with 6INCH (ft The WeeKNd…)

That’s this weeks GetAtMe TopTen HipHop Sales.  It seems that Beyonce drove everyones numbers up to a total 110,275 from 46,782 (a gain in 63,993 in increased sale average in the top 10).  Prince’s death, Beyonce’s and Drake’s album releases ran the charts up.

Ok on this GetAtMeInDaMixxx 0018 COME ON OVER, we did like a quiet storm groove mix with some of today top cuts.  Here’s the stats:

• Kent Jones DONT MIND 98.6 is a hot new cut that moving up quickly (the “you be telling me this break is hot…”). Its momentum carried it straight to the top with a score of 98.6 pts (out of 100 pts)… #ItsAHit grade A+

• Big Bank Black 4LIFE 51.6 I have always liked this rapper (he is the truth) from when I first heard him on a cut MISSING with Future. His story telling and lyrics are above par for a trap rapper.  He has legit pen skills.  This cut shows that (he writes like it’s in a trap diary… #GottaHear grade C
• Marq Dean FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS 45.1 Marq Dean is making moves with HipHouse but made this track for the mixtape crowd to show his versatility.   This sexy phone sex track is different… #FWB grade C

Rihanna is the epitome of the “bad girl in control” (that’s sorta what makes her sexy…) and these lyrics from her new single NEEDED ME exemplifies this.  She said volumes in these bars.

“Don’t get it twisted, you were just another n*gga on a hitlist, trying to fix the issues of a bad b*tch.  Didn’t they tell you I was a savage...?”  (#LSMH, unapologetically bad…).  It seems that Rihanna want to clearly let it be known, that no one owns her and she’s never gonna be the victim and all who wish to be (or already is) involved need to remember that… #Lovett

• Drake FAKE LOVE stays as the top cut with spin increases in urban radio this week (as a matter of fact it raised in spin increases…) Sitting at num 8 on iTunes with a cume audience of 22,615 million listeners, FAKE LOVE is that top trend in urban radio right now…#TopCut
• Migos BAD & BOUGIE The Migos have a cut that making mad moves in BAD & BOUGIE as it come in at num 2 with over 400+ spins.  It sit at num 18 on iTunes (real sales…) and has a cume audience of 9.8 million… #OnItsWay
• Future USED TO THIS USED TO THIS dropped from num 2 last week but it stays in the top 5.  It had moderate sales gains on iTunes as it moved into the top 200 at 198 (last week was at num 281…)  Its cume audience is at 9.3 million listeners… #HoldingOn

This week on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart, The Weeknd reigns supreme at #1 with his single “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk.

Well finally the label is behind ‘TOO GOOD’ (GetAtMe was on this cut back during ‘WORK’ and we told yall it was a winner…).  No matter, they are on it now and TOO GOOD this got week got 39 stations.  This was a great song from jump, now let’s hope the label won’t be behind the sales curve because this cut has outsold ‘CONTROLLA’ already (at #31 currently).  Here’s the stats:

• Drake TOO GOOD is our top grade this week with a B- (36.7pt/60pts) this cut got 39 stations this week….  This is a strong cut with Drake and Rihanna… #ImJustTooGoodTooYou
• Lil Yachty 1 NIGHT came in at num 2 with a grade of C- (26.9pts/60pts)  The kids are really on this Lil Yachty and the video on youtube is real online friendly… #GottaSeeIt
• Anderson Paak COME DOWN C- (25.5pts/60pts) this cut is the real surprise.  It has a driving beat that the pop & core hip hoppers are gonna love.  The Djs might deliver this one… #CheckItOut
• 4eyTheFuture NO TIME TO WASTE (20.3pts/60pts) Great lookin new urban boy band (for real it’s a black boy band…).  This group was developed for the teen females… #YouCanDoIt
• Wiz Khalifa PULL UP (17.6pts/30pts) this cut is driven by the Lil Uzi Vert feature but it’s a real Cali cut (we’ll have to see if it can get out of Cali…)… #Mixtapes4Sure

• Drake’s ONE DANCE goes back to num 1 (after falling to num 2. #GetAtMeHandicapped ) briefly to Dj Khaled’s FOR FREE which is now at num 2 (also ft Drake)…
• 5th Harmony’s WORK FROM HOME (this cuts like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going…) goes to num 3 and at num 4 is Beyonce’s SORRY ( we have a dance mix that’s hot… #GetAtMeHandicapped).
• Desiigner’s PANDA is at num 5 (showing that this cut is no fluke… #GetAtMeHandicapped ) and at num 6 is Kent Jones DON’T MIND (great new cut… #GetAtMeHandicapped )
• FloRida’s MY HOUSE is num 7 (fueled by the NBA playoffs. Everytime this cut plays the itunes number jump #ThatsHowYouSellMusic … #GetAtMeHandicapped ) and at num 8 is Drake TOO GOOD ( #GetAtMeHandicapped …)

Ok here’s this week’s GetAtMe Top Ten.  Drake move into the num 1 slot with ONE DANCE while Desiigners PANDA dropped to num 2 (both held strong, Drake sales numbers outpaced Desiigner this week and that caused the change…).  OT Genesis CUT IT has finally started to emerge (it took almost 4 to 5 months for this cut to move…) and Kent Jones DON’T MND keeps moving to the top.  Yo Gotti’s LAW remained at num 9 as it moves up and Beyonce’s SORRY came into the top ten with strong sales and urban radio play.  That’s this week’s GetAtMe Top Ten.

Let me be clear, Drake is on a roll.  From HOTLINE BLING to ONE DANCE and now this TOO GOOD (this thing here is smokin’…).  I really enjoyed putting this mix together (this mix would go so hot in the club #FRFR).

• Drake TOO GOOD 126.3 pts (out off a 100+ points) As you can by this score I like this cut.  This cut scored so high because it’s already trending and in motion.  This cut is so dj friendly it’s crazy.  Drake’s music is becoming so worldwide dj friendly… grade A+++
• Kyla DO YOU MIND 96.7 pts. Why this cut isn’t already a mass pop success, I don’t know (this cut is an underground dance favorite…).  Drake sampled this cut on ONE DANCE and now it’s like the cut is getting a well deserved 2nd  Kyla has one of those hit pop tones that’s great for churban radio.  Dance djs are gonna have fun with this… grade A+.

Like I said I loved doing this mix.  This is a kind of mix that inspires you while you’re mixing it.  The energy is crazy.  Enjoy

• Desiigner PANDA talk about the little train that could, this cut just keeps on doing its thing (in spite of the haters…). It picked up 397 spins and stays at num 10 ( also in spite of the Prince and Beyonce onslaught…#ThatsCrazy)   #ItsAHit
• Twenty88 ON THE WAY comes in at num3. Big Sean and Jhene Aiko came together to make this nice track.  With 309 spins increases, this cut could be a hit when its sales kick in… #DjAlert
• S-Eighty HALFWAY is the surprise of the week (this is a nice cut). Youtube views are driving this cut along with a Lil Wayne remix.  It picked up 263 spins but hasn’t showed up in the itunes 200 yet (those views have to convert into sales…) #CheckItOut
• Rihanna NEEDED ME is a beast (come on its Rihanna…). With its great video and street buzz (the ladies love this cut…), it picks up 216 spins and is sitting at num 28 on itunes (Rihanna keeps em coming) #BadGirlRiRi
