Okay here’s this week GetAtMe Urban Airplay Scorecard.  The WeekNd STARBABY is now climbing to the top in urban radio.  This cut is already trending strong and now urban radio is catching up to sales demand.  Here’s the stats:

• The WeekNd STARBABY climbs to num 1 from num 4 and is sitting at num 2 on itunes (this cut is legit…)
• Young M.a. Ooouuu is at num 2 (sitting steady from last week also being num 2). It’s at num 48 on itunes still…
• DRAM BROCCOLI is for real as it hops in the top 5 in spin increases in urban radio (it sales fell to num 103 this week just as it’s beginning to peak in urban radio…)
• Mary J Blige THICK OF IT came in at num 4 falling from num 3 last week (urban radio was waiting on a grown record and Mary has one…) and it’s a num 512 on itunes…
• Rae Sremmurd BLACK BEATLES stays at num 5 from last week but it increased in itunes sales to num 33…

Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMe HotNewHits Top 3.  Man this week our top 2 were separated by 1 pt and all the scores were in the 70s.  Here’s the stats

• Kiiara GOLD 79.9 pts (grade B+) This cut just kept pushing through the charts and now it at the top of iTunes and Shazam. This quirky little track really works in the mix.  It’s different and hot.  The video on youtube also helped this cut score high… #GreatVideo
• TheWeekNd STARBOY 78.9 pts (grade B+)This cut is num 1 on Shazam all over the country (its crazy hot… #TheHeat) This cut would have easily been an A but it just got released and there was no video (it’s rare for a new release to score this high on just buzz, so you already know…) Fans couldn’t wait for the new The WeekNd (apparently…) and the legs on this cut is crazy… #ItsAHit
• Dj Drama WISHING 74.4 pts (grade B) Yall already know I’m a big proponent of the Dj Single (It just makes sense. If you as a Dj want more money and juice, then show your true power and sell your music… #NowThatsReciepts)  This WISHING has had a real industry push and the support from the southwest, (Dallas, Houston, ect) it has been great.  The South is just coming in (Atl, Charlotte, ect…) now and it doing its thing.  Chris Brown gives a great performance and the video is hot (Usual Suspect treatment…).  This one might be a creeper in urban radio… #DjDrama

• Sevyn Streeter ft Gucci Mane PROLLY (69.3/100pts) this cut would have had a higher grade if it had itunes sales (it shot out the box then disappeared. They need to stay on this cut cause it’s the winner.   Urban radio spin increases were over 300 plays this week)… #IDontKnowProlly

The Weeknd is back and with a bang.  This new cut ‘STARBOY’ is already selling over 19,000 downloads a day (now that’s fan support).  This groove (right at 93 bpms), is a funky dance grove in the Daft Punk tradition (everyone knew this marriage was in the making…).  The WeekNd once again ride the track as he dominates the hookah music genre with his Tumblr template music format (and it works…)

The WeekNd made a statement.  He along with the rapper Belly cancelled performing on The Jimmy Kimmel show because Donald Trump was appearing.  The artist made the statement the he couldn’t be involved with with a situation that also involves Donald Trump due to his racist rants.  A man has to stand for something.

In this day of “I gotta get my bread mentality”, The WeekNd has put himself in the line of fire of the public relations monster that the Republicans fund (fortunately for him, they don’t like Trump either.  How long this shotgun wedding between the Republicans and Trump lasts is definitely on the clock.  “Do we hate Trump more than we hate Hillary” The Republicans mused “That’s the question” …).  The WeekNd has made a bold statement.  Why, because unlike other performers The WeekNd is on top and right in the middle of his “15 minute of fame” (dead in the middle) and it’s unusual for Pop artist who are this big to risk those “15 minutes” (especially over principle.  I’m really impressed…).  This could be a make or break decision or this decision could just cycle through the trending day to day topics, but the real question is, will Donald Trump get in the mud with Hip Hop and be condescending to young voters in the middle (many who are white, intelligent, female and hiphop fans.  Did I mention that many of these females are The WeekNd’s core fans and love him to death?  Does Donald Trump really want to battle with the Kim Kardashians and trust fund cuties that are The WeekNd loyal (these girls are not the Meghan Kelly’s on Fox and Donald, for real, they will murder you in Tumblr…)?  Will Trump risk reengaging the silent youthful majority that really delivered Barack Obama ( along with Oprah delivering the soccer moms, moms and daughters from middle America are a powerful movement.  Go ask any dad that’s  been marginalized in that house. Go ahead Donald open that huge mouth and tell them how they need to think, “I’ll get the popcorn”).  The bottomline, The WeekNd has showed an amazing amount of character (“if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything “) and his people (who eat off of him) an amazing amount of faith in this young man decision.  Like I said, I’m impressed.   Well Donald it’s your move, I have my popcorn.
