A few weeks ago, a bored 20 year old college management student (Toluwalase Asolo) in England made a tweet “The Boredom Jumped Out.” That tweet has spurned the viral #DontRushChallenge which has sent the young artist Young T & Bugesy up the iTunes charts. This afrobeat groove (that’s easy on the ears...) has taken these guys who are signed to Black Butter Records (with Sony Music Entertaiment) right to the top ten on iTunes (as of today they are number 10...). Being signed to Black Butter Music for 4 years of single releases (“Plead The 5th" is the fan favorite...), now their patience has paid off and they are now accomplishing something that other so called major hiphop artist can’t seem to achieve, hitting the top ten in iTunes sales of downloads (it a miracle... #lsmh ). The viral has created a worldwide movement that has created worldwide interest and sales. No fancy marketing campaign, just a bored 20 year old college student bored at home (pandemic lockeddown...) making a MUA (make up artist) tweet that was timely and creative (“lightning in a bottle”) and walaa... (is that even a word?), a challenge is born and hit is made (just like planned it... #IWish )
Enjoy Young T& Bugsey DON’T RUSH, on iTunes now. Remember, “there’s nothing wrong with the music business that good music can’t cure...”
