Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera

Its been almost 2 years since I bid farewell to DSLR and walk into the mirrorless world. Its wasn’t an easy decision but on the hind side; its the right decision. Leaving my 1DX isn’t easy; which is a very capable camera and still hard to beat even in today’s standard. Eventually it was the size; retrolious design and IQ of X-Pro1 that won me over. Of course I had to live with the down side of X-Pro1 too. AF was its weakest link. With the recent launch of X-Pro2, I would say its now easier for many to make this same decision. Many fellow photographers have been contacting me about new X-Pro2. As I ask why are they thinking of switching? Many says its because of the weight of DSLR and their lenses. X-Pro2 with a 24MP sensor now look like a good and logical alternative. There was also a wedding photographer that I spoke to, thinking of getting two X-Pro2 for his professional work.......

I have wrote many times on this blog how I’m not going to upgrade to a new camera. I am anti G.A.S. But I recently ran into a deal where a X-T1 was $400 off. I could not pass that up so I decided to get it. When you shoot a lot, you know when you need to upgrade. I was getting to that point with my X-E1. I was shooting about 5000 photos a month. The X-E1 felt sluggish. I knew I had to upgrade, but the prices felt too high for me. I remember upgrading from an X100 to an X100s. That was a mistake. It was not a huge upgrade so I felt like I wasted my money. Then how is the X-T1 compared to a X-E1? It’s a huge difference. It seems like a worthy upgrade to me. I could not believe how fast it was. Everything felt lighting quick. When I first turned on my X-T1, my mouth dropped when I experienced how fast the AF was. Then I realized I didn’t even have High Performance mode on. I didn’t even get the latest lens firmware to take advantage of the Phase Detection pixels! Once I did that, the AF became even faster......

In the last few months I've been reading a lot of blogs and reviews on the Fuji X100T, and there is this thing they all seem to imply, "The X100T isn't really worth the upgrade if you already own the X100s." So I borrowed the X100s for awhile and...

So to get to the bottom of this, I decided to borrow a Fuji X100s and try it out for a week to see how it felt compared to the X100T. Most people have the X100s before trying out the X100T, where as I've been using the T and am going back to the S. And wow! The T is a serious upgrade. It's hard to believe the S is only a year and a half old. Feels more like five years.
