A huge new deposit of water has been discovered on Mars in a formation often called the Red Planet’s Grand Canyon. The Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) has detected an area about the size of the Netherlands where water could make up as much as 40 percent of the material near the surface.

And so we can now begin planning our trips to Mars with the return fuel of hydrogen extracted from the Mars water and O2 for the colony atmosphere for the explorers. More than enough water to colonize the planet, I'll bet. JB

Talk about a breakthrough in space travel. Mars becomes the depot for fuel and oxygen for space ships travelling to and from Earth. And Mars becomes an essential stop for the asteroid miners as they seek precious and useful metals to use to colonize Mars. JBm
